It has been 2 months since I last wrote a scribe for MH3 on The 4th All China Nash Hash in last April. It enables me to share my hashing activities and experience with other hashers from near and far through MH3 website. Credits should be given to Websitekang for his untiring effort in creating and maintaining it weekly.

Air Salak is a popular hashing run-site in the outskirt of Malacca city. Its terrains are moderate full of greeneries and fresh air.

It was a hazy Tuesday evening. On arrival at the run-site at 5.15 pm, a fairy big crowd was alreadly there. Among them were new GM Garfield, Alex, Ah Ho, Websitekang, Muru and a few guests who were exchanging greetings and telling grandfather stories. It was then that I was asked by Websitekang to write tlhis scribe for which I have readily agreed.

It was at 5.35 pm that my partner and I started the run as early birds after obtaining permission from the GM on ground that we are senior citizens. The paper headed towards an oil palm plantation after crossing a deep ditch. After going up and down 2 gentle slopes for 20 minutes, it hit the first check which was quite difficult. By the time I found the continuation paper on the left in the  rubber plantation across a barbed-wire fencing, we were caught up by Muru, Nara, Jasbir, Helen and a few guests.  Not long after tracking through the bushy and sloppy rubber plantation, the paper hit the second check in a replanting clearing.  It was another difficult spread-out search before the continuation paper was found uphill on the right. It then went across an orchard with ripe rambutan, durian and lime.  Its owner was seen going round on a motor-cycle in order to make sure that we crazy hashers do not touch them. Luckily no one was caught red-handed.

The paper kept on meandering its way through the bushes and undulating terrains until it hit the third and last simple check in an oil palm plantation. I have no idea who found the continuation paper which led to Air Salak village and back to the run-site after a 3-km road run. Hawaii Goh was seen leading a pack of SCBs through a side laterite road on the right back to the run-site. It took me 1 hour and 20 miinutes to complete the run of 7-km. The last 3 runners who strayed to Bertam Ulu had only emerged at 8.00 pm. They were made up of none other then Bui, Muru and Willie.

The run-site was like a pasar malam (night market) with a crowd of 50 odd hashers. A few of them such as Muru, Willie, James Bond, Kennies and Jasbir were guests from other hashing chapters. We drank, talked and bullshitted grandfatlher stories. A long lost soul of MH3 entertained us with a big basket of fresh and delicious durian from Jasin.

Hash circle was conducted by the new GM Garfield and assisted by ex-GMs Vibrator and Bombastic. It saw the hares, a few guests and sinners being put on ice and on-downed with traditional hash songs.

On-On was held at The Malacca Club in Tanjong Keling. It was well-attended with 6 tables. A six-course delicious sitdown dinner was served. In attendance was a 5-man live band comprising of guitarists cum singers Dr. Dave, Pecker and Anthony. Souvenirs consisting of a beautiful waist pouch, a ball-pen and a porcelain cup donated by the hares, Bombastic and Johnson Tay respectively were given. As usual, more sinners were on-downed. They included Dr. Daves, Bombastic, Johnson Tay and Kennies who were born in 1950 in the year of tiger and have advanced to the status of senior citizens who are entitled to 50% discount in all the joints. Besides, they are also eligible to my RTM (Rehat, Tidur, Makan) Club free of entrance fee, deposit and monthly subscription.

It was indeed a good run and memorable night with good souvenirs, good music and good food which were on the hares. The crowd had only started to disperse at 10.30 pm with stronger body and clearer mind. Thanks to the hares. On-On!
