After three days of hashing and bashing, the Interhash 2008, Perth WA was finally over.
The number of Participants from Malacca Hash House Harriers was outstanding. They are the GM Cocker, JM Killer, Sexy Chan, Drug Buster, SYT, Baby Elephant, Orang Kaya, Sweeti Pie, Garfield, Dennis the Menace, Twin Tower, Oil Rig Lim. It is good to see Garfield on the first day, the registration day, and he is still as active and strong like a bull. Also present were Jason and company from the Malacca Sunday Hash.
About 4500 hashers from over the world turned up and there were 22 runs available for individuals to choose from. Three to four buses for each run were organized to send participants to the run site on the second and the third day. The first day was the registration day and getting together for old and new friends, big feast, beer free flowing and big bash.
We MH3 went together as a team to participate in runs B1 and C4 on the second and the third day. Long, medium and short run was available in each run and we chose short and medium respectively for each run in which the distance was about 5 and 10 km. B1 started from the grounds of beautiful Manning Park, through the surrounding shaded native bush tracks, stepping over the beautiful Coogee Beach, heading inland for an easy stroll along a series of bike tracks and ended up in a hash circle at a park site. The weather was terribly hot and dry and needless to say we had been roasted thoroughly by the hot Aussie sun.
We chose run C4 on the next day, thinking smart, I brought along an umbra and surprisingly it was a semi shaded bush run and the weather was a big cool and breezily and hence my umbrella had turned into a white elephant. Under the leadership of Gm Cocker, we decided at first to choose a short run and thanks to Sweetie and Orang Kaya’s inspiration and they insisted a 10 km medium run. Finally the majority had forced GM and Jm to change their minds, partly fearing the fearful rumors of being named chicken among MH3 circle. It was a lovely shady bush run ended at the famous Lake Leschenaultia, a camping resort for water sports and others. The hash circle was particularly interesting as many chapters came up to give a performance or a song and the pack really enjoyed it very much through the free flowing beer. However, our GM, cocker did a very outstanding show in calling a handful of harriers and harrierts to sing the fisherman and the lobster song, It was really fun with the harriets shaking their busts and the harriers scrubbing their XXX in between the singing of the fisherman in tussle with the lobster.
I did not attend the night function on the second and the third day due to other commitments. I was told that the next Interhash will be in Kuching. Folks see you all again in Kuching!
