Rehash Run No: 1560; Hare/Occasion: Deepavali Run; Date: November 16, 2004; Venue; Peacock Farm, Air Keroh.

Time passes very fast like lightning. Just a twinkling of an eye, another Deepavali Run has approached. In spite of the heavy afternoon downpour, the thought of once a year Hindu connection run and the smell of its delicious curry had driven me to arrive at the run site early. Sharing the same feeling were few other early birds such as Itchibawah, Rita, Wild Boar, Marion, Simon and Maureen.

Without waiting for the official flag-off time, the 4 early birds (Itchibawah, Rita, Wong and Self) followed the paper across the Air Keroh/Durian Tunggal Road into a Malay kampung. It then led to a wet and muddy road, across the dark tunnel of North South Highway before arriving at the first check at a T junction. It was there that Bombastic, the hare, sas seen coming out from the right on a motor cycle. Guided by instinct, the pack headed left and found the continuation paper in the oil palm plantation 50 meters away. The paper then led to a deep ditch, down the slope, across a barbed wire fencing, along the side of a huge chicken farm with stinking smell before seeing another 3 early birds (Vijay, Pramjit and Edarjit) shouting on-on at us from the top of a nearby hill. The second check was 100 meters ahead. As guided, the 4 of  us proceeded up a steep slope on the right for 100 meters before descending a bushy downhill steep slope. The paper then led to another hilly track for half km before hitting the third and last check. It was there that Simon was seen standing and puffing away his cigarette under a rubber tree. Following his tip that the 3 earlier birds were seen heading towards the highway on his left was to no avail. After a 15-minute checking in circle, the paper was found 20 meters in front of him in the rubber plantation. From then on, it was a 2-km run before returning to the run site where the beer wagon was waiting. It was a 5-km run. The last runner was back by 7.15 pm. As a Deepavali present, each runner was given a beautiful collared T-shirt.

Hash circle was conducted by the G.M. As usual, the hare and a few sinners were put on ice and on-downed.

On-On was held at the Daud Pisang Restaurant, Jalan Munshi Abdullah. It was well attended by about 50 hungry hashers. Self-sevice delicious Indian food such as tooseh, chicken and mutton curry were served with free-flowing beer. Another on-down session was held. The crowd started to disperse with full stomach and smiling face after 10.20 pm.

Verdict: Good run, good free food and beautiful T-shirt. Thousand and one thanks. Happy Deepavali!

Rehash Thank You Run For Support To 5th Malaysian Nash Hash 2004; Date: November 3, 2004; Venue: Taman Saujana Impian, Bukit Katil, Melaka.
_______________________________________________________________________________

It has been 6 weeks since the successful organization of the 5th Malaysian Nash Hash 2004 by Malacca Full Moon Hash House Harriers for the first time in Melaka. In appreciation for support rendered by the various hash chapters, a special Thank You Run was organized.

Arrived at the run site early. The weather was cool and the ground was wet after a heavy downpour. As expected, a number of early birds were already there. It continued to swell to about 60 members and invited guests when the G.M. flagged off the run at 6.00 pm. The paper headed south towards a hill. On its top the paper went across a muddy plain. It then descended through a bushy and soggy track before hitting 2 waist deep muddy drains some 400 meters apart. The trail then proceeded to a lake before arriving at a dragon fruit farm on the top of a hill. From then it was an uninterrupted bushy and muddy track run meandering through the vegetable farm, oil palm and rubber plantations before returning to run site where the cold beers were waiting at 6.47 pm. The last group of 5 runners was out 40 minutes later when the sky turned dark. It was a beautiful 6 km run laid by G.M. Bombastic and Kia Su Lee. Each runner was given a beautiful T-shirt.

On-On was held at New Good World Restaurant, Melaka Raya. It was well attended with 10 tables. Good food was served with free flowing cold beer. A stage show was performed by a group of sexy dancers imported from Kuala Lumpur. Talented hashers sang their hearts out and danced wildly to the tune of music. The organizing committee and G.Ms. of the various chapters were on-downed. Hampers were distribluted to all tables. The party ended at mid night. Everybody left with a smiling face. It was really a memorable day.
