Save the Balls Survival Run

It was the 47th Merdeka anniversary day. The run site was full of a pack of about 70 crazy hashers who were in holiday mood. They included a few guests from other chapters. All were ready and anxious to celebrate the Merdeka anniversary run set by the GM. It consisted of a long and a short run.

To loosen the muscle, Bombastic led a short and sweet warm up exercise. The pack then proceeded towards a stream before entering an oil palm plantation. To avoid getting wet, they resorted to either jumping across or stepping on pieces of stone placed by a good soul. The paper then led into the undulating terrain of oil palm and rubber plantations. Two simple checks and three wider streams were encountered. They made most of the runners wet.

The signboards of long and short runs appeared on the right and left side of the track after about 50 minutes. Not wanting to take the challenge, most of us took the short run. The terrains were quite similar to the earlier part. One more stream had to be crossed. Along the way we were over taken by front and long runners Pandirajah and Lee Seng Fatt. We were back at the run site at 7.35 pm after 1 hour and 30 minutes. The sky was falling dark then. The last runner was back at 8.00 pm. Every one was given a T shirt.

The circle was well attended. It was conducted by the GM. As usual, the hares, several sinners and guests were on down and put on ice.

The On-on was at the Seafarer Restaurant. It was well attended with 6 tables. Nyonya food and 3 bottles of beer per table were served. They were on the hares.

Verdict: Good run, beautiful T shirt, good food and good beer. Thanks.
