HHH of Argentina!
|
Hi everybody!
I wanna apologize for not writing to you lately. I´ve been a bit busy at work, arriving home late at night and really short of spare time for more than checking emails every morning.
I sent to you yesterday the link to the website of the monastery where BAHHH (Buenos Aires House Hash Harriers) next trail is taking place tomorrow and the following day since it´s holiday. We call it "a long weekend" because some years ago, the government set that this kind of holidays (June 20th we celebrate our flag creation) will be postponed to the following Monday in order to make a three day weekend and encourage people to spend money in touristic trips.
We always run twice a month, always on Sunday mornings, the do the traditional down down and then have lunch together; almost always we eat "asado" (barbacue) which is the most traditional dish here in Argentina since we have great cow meat or some "empanadas" which are some kind of small or individual pie filled with cow meat and sauce or cheese and fried onions or just ham and cheese (there are lot of tastes).
In this email I will tell you more about the place I live, it´s about 20 km from downtown (Buenos Aires City) its name is Temperley (the tenis player Gaston Gaudio, winner of Roland Garros lives there) and is a small city founded by the English people who came about 150 years ago to build the railway. It´s quiet but we have a mall, several cinemas and even a small casino.
I have to travel about 3 hours per day to go to work, that´s why I´m planning to move to downtown. I work one block from the Pink House (it´s our white house but painted in pink of course, haha).
I´m sending a website of my neighbourhood that shows how it looked like in 1900 and how it looks like now, the third photo is of the school I asisted from I was 10 till I finished high school.
PS. I promise to send the photos of Carmen de Areco (this weekend hash) in which we ´ll spend two days at the monastery. I´ll also send some info and photos of the soccer team I work for.
Cheers and on on!
Andrea
