Scribe For the Annual Road Run No:1551
on 14th September 2004

In order to encourage more members to participate this annual 10 km road run which was considered as our annual medical check up or stress test, the grandmaster got an idea to add one additional event, i.e. 6 km road run. As a result, there were more runners this year, a total of 23 runners who completed the run as compared to a mere 14 last year.

Bombastic sent 11 runners to the 4th km point and the rest of the 12 staunch road runners started at the original starting point. After an usual group photo was taken, the pack zoomed out and secretly, there was some sort of competition among runners of the similar level, and the 10 km runners were serious. However there was a fiasco, as usual, the mismanaged group never paid attention to the instructions carefully. The grandmaster said just followed the yellow chalk mark and subsequently the green chalk mark, for the usual fixed distance of 10 km road run. But, Alas! the front runners somehow chose to follow old papers laid by Orang Utan HHH last week and some other white paint marks. As a result, Alister from KL got lost in a road run! just amazing! Drug Buster, a number two winner last year, overshot by 4 km and returned with 11th position, and first, two runners I was told had to be somehow picked up by motorbikes somewhere in between.

Never mind about that, as long as all runners returned safely and the fun was there. That also gave the Grandmaster more excuses to put more people on ice. The result was outstanding and many runners had actually improved their times. The hash circle was conducted and the absence of winners number, 1,& 2, created all the fun, in the end Lynn Holland took all the three. Websitekang tried to fake as a number one and lured many protestors.

The pack finally adjourned at the New Good World Restaurant at Melaka Raya for on on. Four tables foot by the club were occupied and the group enjoyed a good evening. Some discussion was presented for the coming Nash Hash 04 at weekend as we were also part of the organizing team.

Questions to be answered by the 23 runners who have completed the run within one and half hours:-

1. Did your heart stabilse within 5 minutes or 10 minutes?

2. Were you able to talk to someone or yourself comfortably during the run?

3. Did you have a good feeling after the run?

4. No chest pain, no joint pain, not at the verge of fainting, maybe some muscles aching?

5. Did you enjoy the first bottle of beer or water?

Answer to the above questions honestly, and if your answer is all " yes ",

Congratulations! you have passed the strenuous stress test and you are as fit as a bull. You are unlikely a sufferer of those modern age diseases such as diabetes, gout, high blood pressure, heart disease, or liver, kidney problem, because the chemistry in your system is correct and your joints are superb.

Some advices:-

i. Always get your doctor's approval before you engage in any serious running as a sport.

ii. Always listen to your body, stop the exercise if you encounter unusual pain. e.g. chest pain, joint pain. Consult your doctor immediately before further damage is done.

iii. Moderation is the key. You should be able to talk and run comfortably at the same time.

Confucious says: " Distance will tell the horsepower " and the horsepowers of the members are finally revealed as tabulated below.

One reason that a member ( or guest ) whose name does not appear in the record is as follows:-

a. did not come at all.

b. came but did not run.

c. ran but did not complete.

d. completed but took too long, as the time keeper stopped recording after one and half hour from the starting time.
