WHY CHIANG MAI 2006 SHOULD BE YOUR
ULTIMATE CHOICE FOR WORLD INTERHASH 2006

1. THE FIRST AND ONLY WORLD INTERHASH ORGANISED IN AND BY 6 COUNTRIES

This will be your only chance to have well organised and well coordinated pre
and post lubes in 6 countries:
*       Enjoy beaches, islands and historical sites including such gems as
Ayuthaya and Sukhothai while in Thailand (World Heritage Sites)
*       Experience Ankor Wat in Cambodia before it gets spoilt (World
        Heritage Site)
*       Enjoy old French style Vientiane in Laos and the wonders of Luang
Prabang and Wat Phou (both are World Heritage Sites)
*       Go back 30 years in time while in Myanmar and experience breathtaking
        scenery
*       Take in the tranquil beauty of the countryside in Vietnam and feel
the bustle of noisy Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh cities
*       Be one of a billion, see the Pandas in Chengdu and take a side trip
to Hash on the Great Wall of China

We are also planning a hash train all the way from Singapore through Malaysia
covering famous hash spots there as well as hashing stops on the way up through
Thailand ending in Chiang Mai.

2. SOME OF THE BEST HASHING TERRITORY IN THE WORLD

In Chiang Mai you will find some of the World’s most varied and beautiful
terrain... covering mountains, paddy fields, plantations, farm land, villages,
rivers, elephant trails and more.
But this is only Chiang Mai... you've got the rest of the Mekong region to
explore too! Each country has its own excellent choise of trails for hashing,
their own style of setting a run, conducting a circle, different styles of
on-on-ons and parties etc. Not to mention the experience of different cultures,
sightseeing spots, foods, people and so on. The choice is simply exceeding
what has ever been offered at a World Interhash.

3. REAL EASY TO GET TO

These days it is real easy to get to Thailand with numerous airlines landing
and taking off every minute from all over the world.
Getting to Chiang Mai from Bangkok for instance should be easy with a
flight every hour 7 days a week. That is not to mention all the trains and
busses.
Numerous flights from other destinations in the Mekong region arrive and depart
several times a day making Chiang Mai airport the second busiest airport
in Thailand. In the last couple of months of 2003 a number of new regional
airlines (including low price options) have been launched making it even cheaper
than normal to get around Thailand and the Mekong region.

4. ENOUGH ACCOMMODATION TO SUIT ALL NEEDS AND BUDGETS

We are happy to confirm that there are more than 10,000 hotel beds in
Chiang Mai... that is not counting the cheapest and smallest of guest houses.
With more being build all the time and an expected 5-6,000 hashers, that should
be more than enough to serve our purpose.
A cheap but clean hotel room with aircon, own bathroom and TV normally cost
around USD20... but of course you can find accommodation as cheap as USD10. Are
you into some more luxury like a top five star hotel this will cost you around
USD125. And just for the record, we are talking per room, not per person!

5. TRY THE FAMOUS THAI CUISINE THE THAI WAY

Well, there should be no doubt here. Not only is Thailand famous for their own
cuisine, they are also known for their great love of all kinds of foods and
cuisines. Expect to taste only the best when in Thailand... we will ensure that
all tastes are catered for at Chiang Mai 2006!
When not hashing, why not try eating local style as the locals do... a good meal
for 2 including a beer will normally only set you back USD10. If you are on a
budget, it can be done as cheap as USD1.
Into something more fancy, or want to eat in five star luxury?... then you might
have to cough up USD50 for 2 people.
If you are into eating then why not make your own gourmet trip around the region
while hashing yourself towards the climax in Chiang Mai?

6. DO ALL THE THINGS YOU CAN'T NORMALLY DO!

The Mekong region offers you the ultimate choice not only when it comes to
hashing but also when you are not hashing. We strongly recommend that you take
at least 2-3 weeks if you come from far away because there is so much to see
and do. Let's just mention a few things:
*       lazing on the beach, scuba diving amidst prime coral, deep sea fishing,
water skiing, white water rafting, sailing, yachting
*       adventure travels including mountain hiking, climbing and biking
*       temple spotting and religious studies
*       detoxifying in the world's best spas
*       shopping for arts, crafts, designer labels, copy cats etc.
*       photo touring
*       animal watching, people watching, culture show watching
*       partying etc
*       etc etc
