Hi Pecker,
Regards from Oman. Winter season is soon to be over. Daily temperature has started to increase reaching near 40 one day. Lukily house, office and car have air con facilities. Here is one place were is cold, the ice hokey rink. I play recularly with Muscat and Al Ain teams on Tuesdays and Fridays. This coming April we have tournament in Dubai. When I hear about the ice hokey in Gulf at the beginning it was hard to believe. In Emirates is lot of expatrietes from Canada, US and Scandinavian countries so this is the reason for this opportunity. I have plan to visit Malaysia middle of May, to join MH3 Anniversary run. What is your proposal how I should make registration and payment? Through official channel or maybe you can help me?
Warmest regards, esko
HI Esko,It is nice to hear from you. We had a great time on the Malaysian Nash Hash. Many participants had big praises for the event. There were 2 relay teams running into Malacca, 1 from Singapore and the other from KL. You sure missed the 3 days of great fun in Malacca. The "HASH BAND" played on both nights and this time we have proper sound system to back us up for the open performance. We sounded quite well, I believe as we have improved a lot too.Still very busy with work and have to stay long hours. So difficult to go for hash runs as I can;t make it on time. Well, this situation won't last forever.I believe it must be very hot in Oman. Is the society conservative or are they like the Malaysian muslims....more liberal than the average? Alcohol consumption is not an issue in public places? I believe you don't have any problem adapting to new places, so enjoy it while you're there.Best Regards,Pecker----- Original Message -----From: Jaalinoja, EskoTo: peksengSent: Tuesday, September 28, 2004 9:20 PMSubject: Regards from OmanHi Pecker,
Regards from Oman. It's one month ago I arrived this hot and desert country. That was the reason I could not make Malaysian Nash Hash, as I had planned. I have read from MH3 homepages about the event and I noticed that I lost much exiting runs and OnOns. Especially the run in the Island have been a great adventure, I presume. There was plenty of hashers round the world. In the beginning of August, before leaving here, I met one Australian guy in our run in Finland. He had just moved from Brunei to Singapore and he said to participate Nash Hash. He said that they have a plan to run from Singapore to Malacca. I don't know this plan came true. Did you hear stories like this during the circle or OnOn?
I have at the beginning a one year contract here in Oman. I'm working for local company who has operation and maintenance contract for one power station owned by ministry. Unfortunately, power plant site is 250 km North from City of Muscat, where all Oman hash chapters are. Muscat HHH will run Saturdays. Naturally, if I have businesses in Muscat I try plan these so that I can make a run. Otherwise I have to start my own chapter here in City of Sohar.
How are you? Are you still busy with your businesses? Do you have time to play with your band?
Warmest regards,
Esko
