Hi everyone,

This year we had a beautiful late summer and a long warm autumn in Germany. Jenny and myself spent most of the time outdoors travelling with our tandem through Bavaria. A sudden cold wave stopped our activities and turned mother nature to sleep with ice and snow. Just imagine, between the first photo and last one, there are only FIVE weeks difference!

  Cycling

  Hi TT,
   
  I do a lot of cycling here in Germany. Especially on racer, since I bought a new one, but I spend also time on MTB and Tandem riding with Jenny. A couple of cycling marathons I have done or coming up still this season. E.g. the "Arber-cycling-marathon over 240 km and 3300 altimeter.
   
  A very special ride was up the "Grossglockner" in Austria, a guru mountain for cyclists. Pictures attached. It goes up non stop in many needle bends and long stretches of steep gradient until we riched the famos "Kaiser-Franz-Josef" ridge. From there you can see the biggest glacier in Austria. It was a georgeous day, with breathtaking sights of the still snow covered mountains. Distance covered 42 km and 2650 Altimeter. It took us nearly 4 hours.

  Hello dear friends,
   
  As you can see, we are a bit handicapped at the moment.
  My leg is in cast, because of a ruptured ligament. Jenny has "Bell's Palsy" which cause the left side of the face to be paralysed. But we hope that we will recover until March.
   
  We wish you a Merry Christmas and best wishes, especially good health, for the New Year.

  Forest on fire

  This year we have a special beautifull autumn, since the weather went gradually cold but no frost yet. "Forest on fire", suits the pictures well.

  ( Cycling in Germany )

  Hello my cycling friends,
   
  Well I did not much MTB cycling since I am back to Germany, but it was more on racer (3000 km) and on tandem (2000 km) together with Jenny.
   
  Highlights where three cycling marathons.
   
  Lupburg with tandem - 157 km, 1340 Altimeter, 7h 30min.
  Arber with racer - 242 km, 3370 Altimeter, 9h 35min.
  Wendelstein with Tandem - 105 km, 1490 Altimeter, 5h 50min. 
   
  In general we had a very bad weather season this year. It was mostly cold and rainy. It is still a wonder that I clocked about 5000 km so far in Germany plus 1500 km on MTB in Malacca.
   
  Longing for the warm and pleasant cycling days in Malacca soon. Tickets are booked for End of November.

  Go to Fotos (Photos) / Jahr 2005 / and then down to Juli: Staffellauf nach Freystadt.
  This was a relay run organised by me. We ran from our hometown Hainsacker to Freystadt which is 110 km away. It was very successful and we reached our destination after 10:34 hours two minutes ahead of the planed time.

  ( 19th October 2004)

  Dirk Limann, life member of MH3, son in law of Melaka, will be " Balik Kampung " ( back to Melaka ) at the end of November. We have a few correspondence, and I am happy that he has been following our web site closely. With the German type of precision, he pointed out some mistakes in our site. Appreciate that, at least, I know someone is reading in Germany.

  He has introduced the concept of hashing in his running club in Germany ( technology transfer ), and does it once a year, and recently he did one in July and is kind enough to extract the pictures from his web site to get them published here for your viewing pleasure.

  July in Germany is very beautiful as the weather is condusive for the outdoor activity and you can see the beautiful countryside they ran through, the on on ( B B Q ) is different from our six course dinner, but the material for on down is the same " BEER ".

  Well done the corrections to the members list. Good idea. Sure it was a lot of work to get the right personnel pictures together. But I think it was worth it.
  Have a look on the 2004 Picture gallery (Fotos von 2004) from my running club www.lauftreff-hainsacker.de . In the middle part Juli: Hashlauf, there are photos from my hash run, which I organise for my club once a year.
   
  For the Hash Photos you have to scroll down to the 8th row, 3rd photo with the title Juli: Hashlauf. From there until the 12th row are all the Hash photos taken by my self. Unfortunately as photographer I am not in the pictures.
  To save the trouble to extract the photos from the WEB-side, I have them attached. Feel free to publish them.
