The Malacca HHH in conjunction with the Full Moon HHH made a trip to Betong to participate the tunnel adventure hash run which was organized by the Selama HHH on 19th July 03 and below is the script of the event.
Twenty three of us went on the 17th night and returned on the 20th night and the MH3 members included GM Balan, Visba, T.T., Prabjit, Sam, Chinatambi, Pak, Ho, Au Kiat, Regis,and Gerad.
It took specially designed Thai lorries to fetch us from the hotels to the run site and the whole journey took more than an hour. the run started at 4.30pm.
Verdict: the run was something extraordinary and was a great experience for most of us who probably did it the first time. Well done! Selama HHH, the orgaization was not simple!.

The run site was chosen at a popular tourist attraction sport, literally translated as " the friendly Tunnel Village" a place so created for the descendents of the ex-communist party members to earn a living by the Thai government. The tunnel was used by the communists during the emergency period.
The run was initiated by the GM of Selama HHH after the usual opening ceremony of the event, at 4.30 pm. About 250 hashers from many chapters turned up for the run.
It was basically a climb of a hill up to 700m altitude so claimed by the organizer, and descended to the entrance of the tunnel and after that followed by a 1 km tunnel run which ended at the run site.
The whole run took about an hour for the fast runners and about 1 1/2 hours for the slow ones.
The difficulty lied in the fact that as soon as we started the climb it began to drizzle and then followed by quite a heavy rain. That made the terrain very slippery and at certain part of the hill, uphill as well as downhill, it was pretty steep. The tunnel run was relatively simple and was lit all the way though at times it threatened to extinguish.
The great on down was done to the respective GMs of various HHH chapters at the run site. It was about 6.00pm then that we left the run site and adjourned ourselves at the down town " Big Man" restaurant, literally translated for the grand ON ON.
