Rehashed Run No: 1696; Hares: Pak Sek Kok/ Molly Wong; Date: 26th June, 2007; Venue: IOI Estate Krubong.
I reached the run site early at about 5.30 pm and the turn up was very good about 50 hashers in spite of the fiasco of last week’s run. The weather was cool and I knew it would be a good run as the hares were none other than the Drug Buster and the Wonder woman. This is a perfect couple for setting a run as the Drug buster is a veteran hasher who could set up a very challenging run and should he get carried away and go overboard, the Wonder Woman would nag him to death until the trail is back to a reasonable distance. So a good and safe run would be ensured.
After the usual warm up exercise, the GM did a re-educational program for the hashers and so the guest runners. Showing pieces of the 1’ x 6” papers, the GM said, “ you all must follow this kind of paper and stay on papers all the time as Jasin is very far away, and don’t ever follow those SCBs did in the last run and turned up at the Jasin Toll gate again! “ The last runners were picked up from Jasin Tool gate at about 10.30pm in the last run. Some people were even telling the ghostly story something like the trail was uncleanly spirit infested, whilst running along; they kept on hearing the revving sound of the motorcycles and motor vehicles but nothing on sight. But actually some people were just trying to be smart to short cut the path and got themselves lost.
The run started sharp on time at 6.00pm entering the rubber plantation on the right and all the way it was a pleasant run along the plantation trails and late-rite roads intermingling between the oil palm estates and the rubber plantations. I was told there were two checks and a false trail altogether but I had no chance to experience it as the front runners had already joined it. Anyway, it was a long estate road towards the end of the run and it was good in the sense that it would be safe and easy for any slow runners to complete should the darkness fall. Some late runners were seen coming in the opposite direction from the back trail which was good for a run. It took me about an hour to complete the run, and so the rest of the runners were out very early when the evening was still bright.
The hash circle was a fun to compensate what was missed in the last run. The GM called out the seven musketeers (or seven dwarfs ) who SCB and got lost for an introduction. Many guests including Maniam of Bintulu and a Singapore girl were put on ice.
On On was at the Soon Feng Restaurant at Cheng. Five tables on the hares were fully occupied. The food was plenty and good. Thank you to the hares. The pack dispersed at about 10.30pm.
